What is a blog? For us it is a short blurb that we write when the mood strikes us. It can be first person, funny or informative. In short, a blog is whatever we want it to be. Published March 20, 2008 at 9:15 a.m.

Milwaukee has cracked the top 10 in the Men's Fitness Annual "Fittest and Fattest Cities in America" survey. After finishing 16th last year, Milwaukee's on the move and ranks just behind San Francisco.

Men's Fitness writes: "There's a lot less movement overall this year for a lot of reasons, but we think the most important trend is more and more city officials are making their citizens' fitness and wellbeing a higher priority," says Jeff Lucia of RedFlash Group, the California research firm that conducted the survey for MF. "Today, six out of 10 cities in our survey have a municipal office that promotes fitness and health in their cities. In the past those cities were the exception. Now they're becoming the rule."

The top 10 Fattest cities? Six of 'em are in Texas.

1. Las Vegas
2. Arlington, Texas
3. San Antonio, Texas
4. Fort Worth, Texas
5. El Paso, Texas
6. Dallas
7. Miami
8. Oklahoma City, Okla.
9. Mesa, Ariz.
10. Houston

Chicago, if you were wondering, tips the fat scales as the 20th chubbiest.

The top 10 fittest cities:

1. Colorado Springs
2. Minneapolis
3. Albuquerque, N.M.
4. Denver
5. Portland, Ore.
6. Virginia Beach
7. Seattle
8. Honolulu

So, in your face to Bill Simmons' wife, who recently told espn.com :

"Marquette (6) over Cornell (14): Maybe I could talk myself into the Bucks GM thing if we lived somewhere near Marquette; I always thought it seemed like a nice school. Also, I'd be considered a twig if we lived in Wisconsin. Everyone would tell me how skinny I was all the time and ask me where I worked out and what I did. I could introduce the women there to pilates and explain to them the dangers of brats and cheese curds. I like the thought of being regarded as an exercise pioneer even if it wasn't true."

Simmons has been lobbying for the Bucks GM job through his columns and podcasts.
