Along the banks of the Milwaukee River a bold new dining experience is taking shape. Bayou restaurant and lounge, 2060 N. Humboldt Ave, won't be the city's first Cajun restaurant, but it will certainly be something different than what we've seen.
Co-owners William Jenkins -- owner of Cush cocktail lounge -- and twin brother Robert Jenkins have set out to create what they dub "the sexy bayou" atmosphere in the heart of the city.
The soon-to-be restaurant's highlights include the eccentric menu -- which combines the flavors of both classic and modern Cajun and Creole cuisine with a fusion of global fare -- and the wrap-around dining deck overlooking the water and new Riverwalk.
The Jenkins say Bayou will be open in late September. Stay tuned to OnMilwaukee.com for a more in-depth look into this new restaurant.
