The Velvet Room, 730 N. Old World 3rd St., closes its doors for good on Sunday, May 21, according to owner Mike Kozak, who leases the Downtown space.
"It's been a great run. Recent construction and road closures, though, have made it more difficult," said Kozak. "The Velvet Room's final day will be Sunday."
Kozak wouldn't be specific on his future plans, not saying if he'll re-open or move on to other things.
Open for almost 10 years The Velvet Room was one of Downtown's first funky, upscale club and restaurants. In 2000, Kozak considered converting the venue into an upscale gentlemen's club.
