Note: The contents of this guide were checked for accuracy when this article was updated on Feb. 19, 2008 at 5:09 a.m. We continually update the thousands of articles on OnMilwaukee.com, but it's possible some details, specials and offers may have changed. As always, we recommend you call first if you have specific questions for the businesses mentioned in the guide.

"Bar Month" at OnMilwaukee.com is back for another round! The whole month of February, we're serving up intoxicatingly fun bars and club articles -- including guides, bartender profiles, drink recipes and even a little Brew City bar history. Cheers!

Each week during our coverage of all things bars in the area, we check around with local watering holes, clubs, lounges, liquor stores and grocery stores to give you a comparison on the cost of your favorite libations.

We spent the first two installments of "Price Check" out on the town. We went to the bars, hit up the various stadia and movie houses, but what's wrong with spending a night in every now and then? After all, that fancy big-screen, high-def monstrosity does you no good unless you park your rear end in front of it every once in a while.

With that in mind, we set out this week to see what it's going to cost you to stock the fridge for a night on the couch. And, to add an element of competition, we'll see what's cheaper: a case of Miller High Life or a case of that stuff from St. Louis.

To keep things simple and fair, we chose packages of a dozen 12-oz. cans. Some stores don't carry larger cases and this allows a more uniform survey. You are on your own, though, for chips and other related munchies.

As always, the Talkback feature at the end of this story is here for you. Feel free to add the prices at your neighborhood emporium.
