In early April Molly Snyder Edler reported on a new Third Ward marriage of coffee and vino, manifesting in the new bar, wine shop and café cleverly called Javino (a combo of the words "java" and "vino.")
According to Edler's article, the venue was scheduled to open in May at 330 E. Menomonee St. The bar is still not yet open, but the Third Ward Association's Ruth Lawson informs us it's changing its name to Kafevino.
Apparently Kafevino has no intention of changing its mission, and plans to open soon as a "warm and welcoming place to savor the rich, natural flavors of wine, craft beer, coffee, tea, fresh baked goods and more."
Grand opening information is coming soon, according to the Web site.

Kafevino - I like the new name better. Sounds unique... I'm excited to see what this place is all about.

They changed the name because Javino exists elsewhere. Apparently the owner didn't do a name search. Why don't we wait and see before we tear this one apart. You guys are brutal.

Good thing they changed the "Ja" to "Kafe," that will draw in the crowds. Really clear concept, too: Wine, coffee, beer, tea, pastries, sporting goods, greeting cards...
